Welcome to Altar Ego… where the sacred meets the psychological. We explore the haunting crossroads of faith, fear, true crime, and the supernatural. Two best friends delve into how belief shapes culture and influences some of the most extraordinary stories in history. Hosted by Heather and Jeri (a psychologist), each episode takes a respectful and curious look at infamous cases, folklore, spiritual movements, and the people behind the stories. We don't sensationalize trauma; we unpack it with empathy, history, and a dash of dark humor.

Jeri is an Art Therapist and Counselor committed to anti-exploitative, transparent care. After working in forensic art therapy, she stepped back to reground and co-founded a therapy collective focused on ethical, informed practice.

“When Heather asked about starting a podcast, I saw a chance to enter the true crime world on our own terms, bringing mental health insight, systemic awareness to spark curiosity and deeper understanding.”

Heather is a storyteller at heart — a published poet, author, and classically trained singer with a degree in Creative Writing. By day, she thrives as a product manager; by night, she brings her love of folklore, history, and true crime to life through podcasting. She’s also a busy mom, jewelry artist, and lifelong explorer, always chasing new stories — whether on the page, behind the mic, or on the road.
